Cardio or resistance training?

So what should you do to lose weight and get in the best shape?? It has long been said that you should do cardio and high reps for weight loss and heavy resistance training for building muscle. So lifting makes you bulky and cardio makes you skinny right?? Well it’s not always that simple. If the goal is to improve you’re physique not only aesthetically but also physically you should be doing some sort of resistance training. Studies show that after a weight training session the metabolism can be largely boosted, Along with the added benefit of Improved posture, strength & muscle tone. When you are performing resistance training, while following a calorie-restricted diet & implementing cardio, then you stand a better chance of losing strictly body fat, while helping to enhance the natural curves of your body, This will give you a much better overall transformation than if you just lost weight doing cardio alone. If you’ve ever noticed someone who has lost a considerable amount of weight but still looks somewhat “soft,” that’s usually because they have lost some fat, but their muscles aren’t toned do to the lack of weight training. Balance can be a key here, By all means this does not mean cut out all of your cardiovascular exercise! It still should have its place in every program. But if your not resistance training you could be leaving a lot on the table in terms of fat loss and overall health and fitness!
